Dr Christoforos Kannnavas – General Surgeon – Limassol

Doctor Christoforos Kannavas is a graduate of the medical school of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

After graduation, Doctor Christoforos Kannavas trained for six years in general surgery at the General Hospital of Agios Demetrios, Thessaloniki. Along with his training, he earned a Master's degree in Hepatobiliary Surgery from Democritus University of Thrace, Greece.

Upon successfully completing his general surgery training he worked for 3 years as an intensivist at Edessa Hospital and at Agios Demetrios General Hospital. After that, he was appointed to Limassol General Hospital of Cyprus, where he worked as class A Medical Officer at the Surgical Department for12 years.

During this time, he participated in numerous complex surgical cases and he also performed emergency surgical procedures such as bowel resections and stoma formations, splenectomies, laparoscopic appendectomies, laparoscopic cholecystectomies as well as elective general surgery procedures like laparoscopic hernia repairs and haemorrhoid treatments.

Currently he is working as a private General Surgeon and performs his elective and emergency cases at Ygia Polyclinic Private Hospital. He maintains his own private surgical office where he performs the small operations with local anaesthesia.

He also regularly attends conferences and other CME events to maintain a broad interest,
where he presents rare cases and their successful surgical management.
